Small Groups

There are many opportunities to explore and grow in Christian faith at Westminster. These offerings help us to connect with God and with one another as we journey together in the way of Jesus Christ. Our desire is to provide Christian spiritual formation opportunities that will encourage deeper spiritual growth and equip us to live faithfully as Jesus’ disciples. Small groups and classes are constantly being formed at Westminster. Let us know if you have an idea for a group or would be interested in starting or leading a new group.

A Gathering of Men

7-8:30pm Wednesdays • Spellman Hall & Zoom

This is a community of spiritual formation for men, to enable them to grow in their relationship with God and their neighbors. Through study and discussion of Scriptures, prayer, fellowship, and service, men are invited to explore their spirituality and faith journey in Jesus Christ, and to identify challenges to and opportunities for growth. A key component of each gathering is the voluntary sharing of personal stories and perspectives on the Scripture passages and resources under discussion. The format welcomes men to participate as their schedule allows.

Contemplative Intergenerational Small Group

This co-ed intergenerational group meets weekly on Wednesdays at 4:30 pm over Zoom. They weave different spiritual practices throughout their time together including times of silence, lectio divina, reflection, readings, study and discussion. This group meets from mid-September to mid-June. They select book studies as a group. Sue Spotts and Diane DeSieno facilitate. New members are always welcome!

Tuesday Morning Women’s Study Group

This women’s group chooses Biblical/Topical studies and rotates the role of discussion facilitator among the group members. Studies are chosen by the group and typically feature a DVD and study guide to guide the discussions. Each group member purchases their own book and/or participant guide. All are welcome.

Wednesday Morning Bible Study

We meet weekly on Wednesday mornings from September 13, 2023 until April 24, 2024 with holiday breaks. This is a hybrid study and ladies can attend in person (Spellman Jr.) or via Zoom. We follow a video/workbook format with small group discussion. The women can view the video at home using the code provided in the workbook. We will be studying the book of Psalms this Fall using Sandra Richter's Epic of Eden Study of Psalms. Women will need to purchase their own workbooks. The book can be found on Amazon or Christianbook.com. New members are always welcome, no experience is necessary as this is a group for all ages and stages.
